With a new year, I thought I would try a new poll, so here it is:
Assuming money and time were no object, which of the following would you pick for a grand outdoor adventure in 2011? I’ll leave the poll open for the rest of January.
1. Traveling across Alaska, British Columbia, and the Yukon
2. Hiking in all of the Rocky Mountain, California, and Pacific Northwest National Parks
3. Hiking one of the long trails: Appalachian, Pacific Crest, or Continental Divide Trails
4. Trekking across the Alps
5. Trekking in the Himalayan Mountains
6. Hitting all the major East and South African National Parks on wildlife safari
7. Visiting Antarctica and wild places in the Southern Oceans
8. Outdoor adventures in Australia and New Zealand

ReplyDeleteKaren - I would love to do those as well. A guy I work with is taking 3 months off to hike the southern half of the AT starting April 1. I am envious! Although when he is out there and it has rained 2 weeks straight, my shade of green may pale a bit. And Australia and New Zealand? What more could I say? Art
ReplyDeleteArt: If I have to pick just one, I'd make it #9, meaning #1 + #7 + #8. Marge and I have done #1 twice by Toyota & once by Cessna 170, & plan to repeat by Prius this year. Your January 6 "Splash of Color" shows your fantastic photography continues, and merits a book.
ReplyDeleteDick - now that is thinking outside the box! Nice! If you have unlimited time and money, why not combine a few? That would be a sweet trip. Sounds like you'll be doing part of it in the Prius. Thanks for the kind words about my pictures. I am glad that you enjoyed them. Art
